Overview

Regional Head of Commercial – Industrial Projects MEA role at DHL Global Forwarding. Lead the commercial function for the region, acting as the functional lead for pricing and as a conduit between Sales, BD, contract management, implementation and operations.

DHL Global Forwarding, Freight (DGFF) is the Group's air, ocean, and road freight specialist. We offer standardized transport as well as highly specialized end-to-end solutions to customers in a wide range of industries globally.

Responsibilities
  • Develop strategy and lead its implementation to improve commercial responsiveness and pricing accuracy in countries across the region.
  • Work with other functions (e.g. Business Development, Sectors, RFQ Management and Countries) to understand customer needs for upcoming opportunities and lead preparations.
  • Assess company positioning and value proposition with market research, by geography, market segment and customer group, and make recommendations for better positioning.
  • Review processes, policies, systems and tools to support regional and global strategy, financial and operation objectives, Group guidelines and policies.
  • Oversee proposal development and commercial / pricing strategies for meeting customer needs, enhancing competitive position, and maximizing EBIT.
  • Ensure pricing and commercial proposals align with contractual requirements and deviations; lead contractual negotiations in line with business strategy and Company guidelines.
  • Lead design and implementation of commercial / pricing models, tools, systems and processes to enable effective and value-driven decision making.
  • Coordinate analysis of RFQ requirements to develop customer proposals; analyze internal and external market conditions, market shares and business goals to identify opportunities.
  • Conduct periodic pricing reviews to support business needs and regional / global initiatives.
  • Contribute to implementation of awards with visibility of price change levers.
  • Conceptualize, direct and lead key improvement projects in commercial / pricing management.
  • Introduce and embed world-class practices for commercial / pricing and knowledge sharing at regional and country level.
Stakeholders
  • Extensive contact and negotiating with other departments and third parties with conflicting objectives.
  • Influence and challenge key stakeholders effectively.
  • Develop strong, trusting cross-functional relationships with senior DHL leaders.
  • Influence others across DHL and externally as a recognized thought leader representing the Group.
  • Champion cooperation and partnership to provide integrated solutions to problems.
Management Responsibility
  • Lead multiple teams of lower level executives, directors / senior managers, and managers.
  • Develop short to long-term plans (1-5 years) for optimizing the organization and talent required to execute strategies.
