Job summary

A leading maritime company in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a marine communications officer to manage communication between vessels and maintain vital reports. Responsibilities include preparing the Midnight Daily Marine Spread Report and maintaining navigational warnings to ensure safe operations. Ideal candidates will excel in communication and coordinate with multiple vessels, facilitating essential operations for efficiency and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately receive and pass on all communications between vessels.
  • Prepare and distribute the Midnight Daily Marine Spread Report.
  • Maintain a Satellite Phone register and Radio Log.
  • Maintain a 24-hour Channel 16 watch and issue Navigational warnings.
  • Maintain contact with helicopters during barge operations.
  • Facilitate personal calls and maintain a Personal Calls Report.
Job description
  • Accurately receives and passes on all communications (including telex and fax) between Barges, Supply boats and other vessels
  • Prepares, copies, submits to supervisor and distributes to all relevant parties the Midnight Daily Marine Spread Report
  • Maintains a Satellite Phone register and Radio Log
  • Maintains a 24‑hour Channel 16 watch, notes and issues Navigational warnings and relays them to section head and vessel captains
  • Maintains constant contact with the helicopter during barge arrival/departure process and during in‑field work to ensure that all relevant information is relayed for operational and safety purposes
  • Facilitates personal calls and maintains a Personal Calls Report
