As a,QC Engineer youwill be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality of construction and engineering projects. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in implementing and maintaining quality control processes, conducting inspections, and collaborating with project teams to uphold high-quality standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, implement, and manage quality control processes and procedures while ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and project specifications.
- Evaluate and manage the quality performance of suppliers and subcontractors, establishing criteria for their selection, and coordinating with contractors, suppliers, and project teams to uphold quality standards.
- Demonstrate expertise in creating and executing QA/QC plans, inspection test plans (ITPs), and conducting root cause analysis to address non-conformances, implementing corrective and preventive actions effectively.
- Conduct regular inspections of construction activities, materials, and equipment.
- Perform quality control tests to verify adherence to project requirements.
- Strong understanding of safety standards, risk assessment, and quality compliance in mechanical and piping engineering.
- Familiarity with ISO 45001 international standard for occupational health and safety.
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive document control system to ensure accurate and up-to-date record-keeping of inspection reports, quality documentation, and compliance assessments.
- Prepare regular quality control reports for project management and stakeholders, effectively communicating findings, trends, and recommendations to drive quality improvements.
- Leverage strong analytical and interpersonal skills to identify and resolve quality issues while collaborating across teams and engaging stakeholders in achieving quality objectives.
- Provide training and guidance to project teams on quality control procedures and best practices.
- Collaborate with project managers to address quality-related issues and implement corrective actions.Identify and document non-conformities and deviations from quality standards.
- Work with project teams to develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Analyze quality control processes to identify improvements and implement best practices for enhanced QA/QC outcomes.
- Commit to continuous improvement through Lean or Six Sigma methodologies and adapt to evolving technologies and standards in quality assurance.
- Carry out any task that is required by the QA/QC Manager.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Certification as a Quality Engineer (CQE) or Quality Auditor (CQA) through ASQ, and/or certification in ISO 9001 (e.g., Lead Auditor) is highly desirable.
- Additional certifications in NDT methods s required and certifications in welding inspection (e.g., AWS Certified Welding Inspector - CWI) are a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in QA/QC mechanical and piping engineering within the Power (CCGT) or EPC projects. Previous experience in a senior engineering role is preferred.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, and experience participating in audits.
- Proficient in industry standards and codes such as ASME, API, ANSI, ASTM, and ISO, with a particular focus on pressure piping, welding, and material specifications.
- Experience with quality management software and tools (e.g., Aconex, Procore, Primavera, or similar QA/QC tracking and documentation platforms) is advantageous.
- Skilled in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques (e.g., radiography, ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing) and interpretation of results.
