Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Purchase Manager to join our dynamic team within the perfume and cosmetics industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing of raw materials, packaging, and finished products while maintaining quality standards. This role requires strong negotiation skills, market insight, and the ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies aligned with company goals.
- Forecast demand based on production schedules, sales trends, and market conditions.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate new products or materials.
- Supplier Management
- Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to optimize costs and ensure quality.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and regularly review supplier performance.
- Order Management & Coordination
- Oversee purchase order processing, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Coordinate with production, quality control, and logistics teams to align procurement activities.
- Monitor inventory levels and initiate replenishment orders to avoid stockouts or excess inventory.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure all purchased materials comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company quality specifications.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address supplier-related quality issues.
- Keep abreast of regulatory changes affecting procurement in the cosmetics and perfume sectors.
- Cost Control & Reporting
- Analyze purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Prepare regular reports on purchase activities, supplier performance, market trends, and budget adherence.
- Manage the procurement budget efficiently.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor the purchasing team to enhance their capabilities.
- Foster a collaborative environment promoting continuous improvement in procurement processes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in procurement or purchasing roles within the perfume, cosmetics, or luxury industries.
- Strong knowledge of raw materials used in cosmetics and perfumes, including regulatory and quality standards.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with international sourcing and import/export regulations is a plus.
