JIC Switchgear / PLC Panels Designer (EPLAN Software)

Location: UAE

Contract: Permanent / Full-time

Role Purpose

Lead the design of switchgear and PLC panels, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and HSE requirements. Provide technical input for manufacturing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering
  • 5-10 years' experience designing switchgear and PLC panels
  • Familiarity with oil and gas engineering design specifications, quality, and HSE standards
  • Experience interpreting and applying scope of work and vendor design documentation
  • Proficient in EPLAN software (preferred)
  • Fully conversant with international codes and standards such as IEC, ANSI, BS, EN, ASTM, API, and ISO
  • ADNOC standards familiarity preferred
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of design including technical assessment and recommendations for materials and equipment
  • Review documents and drawings received from clients and vendors
  • Plan and implement design activities, including planning, review, verification, and validation
  • Review scope of work and specifications; prepare engineering input such as document / drawing lists
  • Provide inputs for manufacturing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities
  • Perform design checks on drawings and documents against company specifications and international standards
  • Supervise drafting team and ensure timely delivery of approved deliverables
  • Review bid evaluations, purchase orders, and related documentation
  • Prepare material requisitions, technical inputs for queries, MTOs, drawings, calculations, and reports
  • Prepare as-built drawings and operations & maintenance manuals for contracts
  • Review internally prepared drawings and documents
  • Ensure corrective actions are closed out with proper evidence, including root cause analysis
