Job Purpose
The Head of Marketing oversees all facets of marketing activities, both at product and corporate levels, to establish and maintain best practices in marketing.
Key Accountabilities
- Oversee corporate marketing activities, including branding.
- Plan and execute visitor, delegate, and exhibitor marketing campaigns on time and within budget, in consultation with Vice President and Head of Sales
- Develop and maintain time and action plans for all campaigns, monitor spend, and report effectiveness.
- Provide integrated marketing support for the exhibition/sponsorship/delegate sales teams as needed.
- Coordinate and manage relationships with various suppliers, including creative designers, website developers, media, etc.
- Manage a PR Consultancy to execute international PR plans.
- Manage, develop, and maintain all product websites.
- Produce effective advertising, marketing, and sales collateral for all products.
- Develop relationships with trade associations, media, regulators, and industry organizations.
- Manage database management, development, and list sourcing.
- Develop, negotiate, and fulfil contra agreements with media partners, associations, and supporters.
- Liaise with team members and stakeholders on items containing event branding.
- Attend meetings with key event partners, associations, sponsors, and media.
- Monitor competitive activity and attend competitor events as required.
- Manage participation at competitor events as required.
- Conduct or commission relevant market research for each product, measure customer satisfaction, and identify event development opportunities.
- Assist the Event Management team in identifying product development, sponsorship, and branding opportunities.
- Oversee the development of the business' online activities.
- Manage, motivate, and develop the marketing team.
- Collaborate with marketing teams in cross-promotional opportunities
Qualifications and Experience
Technical / Functional
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrable management experience in events and/or B2B media
- Degree educated/MBA desirable.
- Detailed knowledge of marketing best practices
- Understanding of B2B exhibition and B2B publishing markets
- Familiarity with data protection issues
- Experience in developing online strategies.
- Proficiency in auditing existing procedures and implementing new ones.
- Appreciation of international cultures and foreign languages
- Ability to network and liaise with senior stakeholders, trade bodies, and associations.
- Proactive engagement with market trends
