A leading construction firm in Dubai is looking for an Estimation Manager to lead a team dedicated to preparing competitive civil project estimates. The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in civil construction estimating, with a strong background in managing teams and technical expertise in cost estimation. Candidates with professional certifications are preferred. This role offers an opportunity to influence project cost efficiency while ensuring compliance with local standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the estimation team in preparing competitive and technically sound civil project estimates.
Analyze drawings, specifications, scope of work, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.
Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure comprehensive pricing coverage.
Collaborate with project planning and design teams to define construction methods and cost implications.
Identify and quantify project risks and prepare contingency budgets.
Review and approve cost estimates, BOQs (Bill of Quantities), and tender submissions.
Maintain a database of costs, productivity rates, and supplier/subcontractor pricing.
Participate in pre-tender meetings and client negotiations as needed.
Ensure compliance with local construction codes, safety standards, and company policies.
Develop strategies for improving estimation accuracy and efficiency.
Provide post-tender support during contract negotiations and project startup.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (Masters degree is a plus).
Professional certifications in estimation or project management are desirable (e.g., PMP, CCP).
8+ years of experience in civil construction estimating, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
Proven track record of successful cost estimation for medium to large-scale civil projects.
Strong knowledge of civil construction materials, methods, and market rates.
Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Candy, CostX, AutoCAD, MS Excel).
Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
Ability to manage multiple tenders with tight deadlines.
