Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Demand Planner to manage demand forecasting and inventory planning for our short life-cycle product portfolio. This role is critical in ensuring product availability while minimizing waste and optimizing supply chain efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in demand planning, forecasting, and inventory management for perishable or short shelf-life products.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop accurate demand forecasts using historical data, market insights, and sales trends.
- Monitor daily/weekly demand for short shelf-life products to prevent overstocking or stockouts.
- Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to align forecasts with business plans and promotions.
- Adjust forecasts dynamically based on seasonality, market changes, and consumer demand patterns.
- Utilize forecasting tools and ERP systems to create demand planning reports and dashboards.
- Track forecast accuracy (MAPE, bias, etc.) and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to balance product availability and freshness.
- Provide proactive communication on demand risks, constraints, and opportunities.
- Support new product launches with demand scenarios and volume projections.
- Analyze market dynamics, competitor activity, and customer behavior to refine forecasts.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Business, Statistics, or related field.
- 5 -7 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain management (FMCG or perishable products preferred).
- Proven track record of working with short shelf-life products where forecasting accuracy is critical.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in forecasting tools, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite), and Excel.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Experience with statistical forecasting methods and KPIs (MAPE, forecast bias, inventory turns).
