A leading engineering firm is seeking an experienced Assistant Civil Engineer - HV Substation in Abu Dhabi. You will support the Resident Engineer in managing site operations and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, at least 8 years of UAE experience, and specialized knowledge in high-voltage substation projects. Qualifications

Job description

Our client is seeking a highly capable and experienced Assistant Civil Engineer - HV Substation to support the Resident Engineer in overseeing day-to-day site operations and ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in executing responsibilities in line with project requirements through regular site visits, inspections, and technical oversight
• Liaise and coordinate with all technical disciplines to ensure consistency and clarity in design and construction implementation
• Attend Site Technical Coordination Meetings to review and discuss contractor submissions, shop drawings, and other construction-related matters
• Monitor and inspect construction activities to ensure compliance with contract documents, approved shop drawings, and industry best practices
• Verify adherence to approved method statements, layouts, and work procedures
• Witness and document site activities and testing, ensuring quality assurance and control measures are met
• Assist in the final inspection and certification of completion, and support the handover process of completed works
• Promote and ensure the implementation of adequate safety measures on site in accordance with local regulations and project safety plans

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (BE) in Civil Engineering
• Minimum 8 years of experience in the UAE working on large-scale infrastructure or utility projects.
• At least 4 to 8 years of experience working in high-voltage substation projects (400KV/220KV/132KV)
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, technical coordination, and inspection protocols
• Experience in reviewing shop drawings, method statements, and contractor submittals
• Familiarity with UAE standards, regulations, and best practices for construction and safety
