Job Description
- Read daily events to be aware of any VIP arrivals.
- Must have a complete working knowledge of bar items, ingredients, and preparation.
- Ensure all details of service are performed properly for every guest.
- Understand and adhere to Beverage Department Standard Operating Procedures.
- Change ashtrays, serve cigarettes, and wipe down the bar area.
- Carry trays, bus, and reset tables with linen, china, glassware, and silverware.
- Ascertain guest satisfaction and handle any problems, informing a manager of the issue and how it was resolved.
- Greet regular guests by name when possible, noting and serving their preferences.
- Professionally set up the bar at opening, including liquor, ice, glassware, juices, and garnishes.
- Process drink orders in proper calling order from guests and service staff, checking for correctness and managing billing efficiently.
- Make cocktails according to the Hotel’s standard beverage manual.
- Receive and check liquor against requisitions from the previous shift.
- Limit problems related to customers' excessive drinking.
- Serve snacks or food items to customers seated at the bar.
- Organize requisitions, pickups, and verification of F&B items used in the bar.
- Ensure the bar is fully stocked and all side opening and closing duties are completed.
- Slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks.
- Arrange bottles and glasses to create attractive displays.
- Keep the bar area neat and tidy, regularly clearing dishes and glassware.
- Manage security in the work area; do not leave the bar unless properly relieved.
- Assist with cleanup, including mopping floors, removing cans and bottles, cleaning rails and counters, and removing melting ice.
- Maintain knowledge of all F&B services, outlets, and hotel features.
- Handle cash following established accounting procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of food and beverage experience with detailed bar knowledge.
- Previous public contact and/or cashiering experience.
- Secondary school education.
