Overview

The Associate Relationship Manager will support the growing business and achieve divisional targets. This role will have internal and external stakeholders. Internal stakeholders may include Sales, Product Development, Risk & Compliance teams. The remit may range from an area within a country or multiple countries. The jobholder is responsible for working alongside a Relationship Manager, with accountability for service, risk, sales and operational delivery to achieve highest customer satisfaction through pipeline, sales activity and customer service management.

Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end credit application process including preparation of credit applications based on thorough analysis of the financial reports, research and other data sources / market intelligence
  • Be responsible to assist RM and deliver on CDD related process for respective portfolio
  • Closely work with the RM to increase revenues from existing and new to bank clients
  • Assist the customer draw on the HSBC group network by working closely with other CIB sites and product groups like Global Trade Solutions (GTS), Markets & Security Services (MSS), Global Payments Solutions (GPS)
  • Structure appropriate credit facilities for the customer
  • Keep abreast of external factors influencing international business e.g. economic, cultural, geographical, procedural and regulatory requirements
  • Assist RM to ensure timely and accurate maintenance of customer information, including Know your Customer (KYC) requirements, in Group systems
  • Establish an effective working relationship with Risk Management teams, in order to validate the accuracy of the customer risk profile and ensure sustainable asset growth
  • Keep abreast with sustainability and assist RM to identify, lead and deliver sustainability solutions supporting clients in their transition journey
  • Accountable for managing and timely execution of all operational queries, exceptions on the assigned portfolio, including but not limited to payments, transactions, inward cheque clearing, activity monitoring alerts etc.
  • Maintain adequate controls on timely responses to queries from various stakeholders including reporting, responses on standard/ad hoc returns
  • Maintain a robust and efficient control environment across the business area to ensure good operational, financial and project management and compliance with HSBC policy and procedures, together with early identification and effective resolution or escalation of issues that arise
  • Provide technical, leadership and support technical excellence by searching out external best practice, monitoring technical and professional developments, sharing knowledge and encouraging others to do the same in the best interests of HSBC and its customers
  • Manage, Coach and Develop junior members of staff and encourage a learning culture within team members
