A leading international hotel chain in Dubai seeks a Director to assist in leading segmented sales efforts and maximize revenue while ensuring guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in sales and marketing, relationship management, and a commitment to exceptional customer service standards.
JOB SUMMARY
Assists in leading the property's segmented sales efforts (e.g., group, transient, association, corporate, etc.) and helps implement the segment sales strategy to achieve revenue goals, property revenue, and guest and employee satisfaction. Conducts all day-to-day activities related to sales with a focus on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable the achievement of property sales objectives. Achieves personal booking goals.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 3 years of experience in sales and marketing or a related professional area.
OR
4-year bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 1 year of experience in sales and marketing or a related professional area.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Developing & Executing Sales Strategies
Works with sales leadership to ensure understanding and effective implementation of sales strategies for the segment.
Assists in developing, implementing, and sustaining an aggressive solicitation program focused on increasing business.
Collaborates with management to create and execute a sales plan addressing revenue, customers, and market segments, led by the DOS.
Supports the development and execution of internal and external promotions.
Maximizing Revenue
Provides positive leadership to ensure maximum revenue potential, including setting personal booking goals.
Recommends booking goals for sales team members.
Managing Sales Activities
Approves space release for catering to maximize revenue (DOS Group) in the absence of a Business Evaluation Manager.
Participates in sales calls to acquire new business and close deals.
Supports operational aspects of booked business, such as proposal writing, contracts, and customer correspondence.
Analyzing & Reporting on Sales and Financial Data
Uses sales systems to analyze market information and implements strategies to meet property’s financial goals for rooms and catering.
Assists Revenue Management with accurate six-period projections.
Reviews sales and guest satisfaction results to identify areas for improvement.
Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service
Provides leadership in guest hospitality, exemplifies customer service, and fosters a positive environment for guest relations.
Engages with guests for feedback on product quality and service levels.
Meets with guests during pre- and post-event meetings to gather feedback on quality, service, and overall satisfaction.
Empowers employees to deliver excellent customer service and observes service behaviors for feedback and improvement.
Incorporates guest satisfaction into department meetings and promotes a customer recognition program.
Supports the company's Customer Service Standards and property’s Brand Standards.
Practices daily service basics of the brand and executes exemplary service to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Serves customers by understanding their needs, recommending appropriate features/services, and building relationships and loyalty.
Gains understanding of the primary target customer and their service expectations, addressing business issues proactively.
Building Successful Relationships
Develops and manages relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborates with off-property sales channels to ensure aligned efforts and mutual achievement of property needs.
Works with HR, Engineering, and Loss Prevention to ensure compliance with regulations and union requirements.
Attends customer events, trade shows, and sales missions to build and develop key relationships with GSO Managers and clients.
