Job description

One of our clients (Shipping Company) is looking for an Area Logistics Senior Officer to be based in UAE.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the end-to-end logistics of EMPTY CONTAINER MOVEMENTS across ports, inland depots, and customer locations throughout the IND Subcon - Gulf/RED Sea - East Africa/Indian Ocean Islands
• Monitor and forecast empty container supply/demand to prevent surplus or shortage at key locations.
• Coordinate daily with port terminals, depots, shipping agents, transport providers, and internal teams to optimize container allocation and repositioning.
• Track container imbalances and analyze equipment flows to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with trade and equipment control teams to plan repositioning strategies based on trade lane activity and cargo forecasts.
• Oversee the timely dispatch and return of leased containers and ensure compliance with lease terms.
• Prepare and analyze operational reports related to equipment flow, depot performance, and repositioning costs.
• Identify process bottlenecks and propose continuous improvement measures to increase efficiency.
