An exciting opportunity is opening at a growing Auditing and Financial Services Firm in northern suburbs, JHB. We require aspiring future industry leading personnel who are willing to complete at least 3 years of SAIPA.

POSITION INFO :

A SAIPA article clerk is challenging and varied, and the successful candidate will need to be highly analytical, detail-oriented and able to work effectively under pressure.

Responsibilities :

1. Assisting with financial reporting and working closely with senior accountants or auditors to prepare financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports.
2. Conducting audits and being involved in auditing various client accounts, ensuring that the financial statements presented are in line with IFRS for SME.
3. Bookkeeping, data capturing, and processing financial transactions in the accounting system, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the data.
4. Taxation - assisting with tax compliance and completing tax returns.
5. Conducting research and providing insights on financial and accounting matters.
6. Client management - interacting with clients, responding to queries, and building relationships with them.
7. Staying up-to-date with industry trends and developments, including changes in accounting standards and tax laws.
8. Ad hoc tasks - assisting with various ad hoc tasks, such as project management, business advisory services, and other administrative tasks as required.

Requirements and Skills :

1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Afrikaans and English.
2. Pro-active and willing to take responsibility.
3. Analytical with the ability to work well under pressure.
4. Administratively inclined and entrepreneurially minded.
5. Good theoretical and technical background in Accounting, Auditing, and Tax.
6. Willing, interested, and able to continue technical growth to become an industry leader in any of these fields.
7. Keen interest in Financial Year End duties such as preparing Annual Financial Statements for clients.
8. Must be highly motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Valid driver’s license and own transport is essential.
10. Living arrangements in close proximity to office preferred.
