Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking dynamic, enthusiastic, and caring Youth Program Counselors to lead and supervise children and teen-focused club activities. The ideal candidate will be passionate about youth development, skilled in engaging with children aged 5–16, and capable of planning fun, interactive, and educational group sessions. This role plays a critical part in shaping positive experiences and supporting social-emotional growth for young participants in our Kids & Teens Club Programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and implement recreational, educational, and creative group activities for kids and teens.

  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants.

  • Foster meaningful relationships with children and parents, building trust and engagement.

  • Supervise children during club hours, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.

  • Collaborate with other counselors and program coordinators to deliver cohesive, age-appropriate content.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to children, encouraging participation and positive behavior.

  • Document attendance, behavioral observations, and any incidents as per company policy.

  • Assist in evaluating program success and recommend improvements or new activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree (or pursuing) in Education, Psychology, Child Development, Social Work, or a related field.

  • Proven ability to manage and engage children in a structured group setting.

  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

  • High energy, creative, and adaptable personality.

  • CPR and First Aid certification (preferred or must be willing to obtain).

  • Tech-savvy with basic knowledge of online learning or virtual group activity tools.

Experience
  • 1–3 years of experience working with children and/or teens in schools, camps, clubs, after-school programs, or similar environments.

  • Experience designing or leading group games, workshops, or educational content is a plus.

Working Hours
  • Flexible scheduling based on program needs (weekday evenings & weekend availability preferred).

  • Hybrid and remote work options available depending on activity type and seasonal programming.

  • Strong knowledge of child development principles and behavior management techniques.
