Roles / Responsibilities & Job Description

OMI Solutions is looking for a Senior-Level Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) who can facilitate licensing and environmental authorisation processes, conduct public participation meetings and other stakeholder engagements. In fulfilling this role, the EAP will be responsible for:

  • Determining site sensitivities, listed activities and the correct authorisations required, as well as the application process to follow.
  • Compiling Basic Assessment and Scoping and Environmental Impact Assessment/Environmental Management Programme Reports.
  • Determining project costs and managing project budget.
  • Manage and co-ordinate public participation processes.
  • Liaising with clients and authorities.
  • Overall project management and specialist management.
  • Analytical report writing.
Qualifications

Qualifications/Experience Required:

  • Minimum of Honours Degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Science or similar field.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in environmental consulting.
  • Knowledge of relevant environmental policies/legislation.
  • Must be EAPASA registered.
  • Experience with Financial Provisioning Reporting or Environmental, Social Governance (ESG) will be advantageous.
  • Experience with ArcGIS/QGIS mapping & Microsoft Project.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and be prepared to work extra time occasionally in order to do so.
  • Must be able to work independently and without supervision.
  • Must also be able to function productively as part of a team.
  • Must be willing to travel for site visits and client meetings.
  • Code B (code 8) driver’s licence (own transport required).
  • Must be willing to travel extensively and internationally.
Salary

Salary Range: Market related and based on experience.
