Job summary

A leading company in Durban seeks an Electrician to perform maintenance on vehicle security systems. The role involves diagnosing electrical issues, general vehicle maintenance, and requires over 5 years of technical experience. Preference will be given to historically disadvantaged individuals, especially Black female candidates, in line with our transformation policy.

Job description

The above position is vacant at our Durban Office. The overall purpose of this position is to perform electrical work on security and risk items.

Minimum Requirements

• Clear criminal record
• Excellent communication skills
• Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• At least 5 years of experience in technical/maintenance work
• Bulugaya System experience is advantageous
• Ability to work independently
• Knowledge of different types of vehicles
• Familiarity with cameras, biometrics, and electrical fences
• Valid driver's license
• Diesel mechanic experience
• Knowledge of vehicle systems for CIT vehicles
• Own transport is an advantage
• Willingness to travel and work extended hours when required
• Auto Electrician experience

Job Responsibilities (not totally inclusive)

• Diagnosing electrical issues and vehicle security systems
• Checking and replacing wiring of vehicle systems
• General maintenance on OTC vehicles, including replacing faulty OTC locks and attending to breakdowns
• Preparing paperwork for each vehicle
• Replacing broken keypads
• General maintenance and repairs, including air conditioning systems
