Job description
PURPOSE

This position exists to oversee the execution of the deposition plan by effectively planning activities, organising resources, delegating tasks , leading personnel and managing risks and deviations to ensure the successful achievement of the deposition objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning
  • Select the appropriate equipment for each task.
  • Ensure sufficient stock levels are maintained.
  • Confirm that emergency equipment is available and in good condition.
  • Deploy the workforce effectively.
Execute Tailings Dam Activities
  • Dress the walls.
  • Construct catwalk and platforms.
  • Operate catchment paddock penstocks.
  • Clean solution trenches.
  • Monitor the flow of underdrains.
  • Measure and control densities.
  • Monitor water depth, inlet flow at penstock, pond, and bypass system.
  • Complete the daily log and shift report.
  • Complete the safety declaration.
Leading
  • Train, coach, and motivate team members.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and supervisors.
  • Ensure employees are aware of hazards and risks.
  • Apply fair and consistent disciplinary measures when necessary.
  • Address employees’ grievances. Promptly and professionally.
Control his / her Team
  • Monitor staff performance.
  • Manage employees’ time sheets and attendance records.
  • Ensure equipment are used correctly and stored properly.
  • Enforce compliance with written safe work procedures.
  • Report and record all incidents accurately.
  • Maintain a positive industrial relation (IR) climate.
