An established and growing Accounting firm is looking for an experienced and seasoned Tax Manager to oversee the tax function and work collaboratively with the Accounts/Operations Manager, with a particular focus on international clients operating in South Africa. This role involves managing deliverables, improving internal processes, and developing team capability, ensuring the effective delivery of all tax-related services across compliance, advisory, and reporting. You will report directly to the Executive Team, ensuring that tax operations align with company’s broader client service and operational strategy.

This position will be full-time role based onsite at their offices in Germiston (Monday - Friday)

Key Responsibilities:

Client Tax Management

  • Overseethe full tax compliance function across corporate, individual, and trustclients.
  • Ensureaccurate and timely submission of all tax returns (Income Tax, VAT, PAYE,Provisional Tax).
  • ManageSARS correspondence, queries, and deadlines with precision.
  • Reviewand approve tax computations and reconciliations for quality andcompliance.
  • Prepareannual tax summaries and management reports for client review.
  • Draftand manage engagement letters and fee proposals for tax services.
  • Maintainprofessional, proactive communication with clients on all tax matters.

Tax Advisory and Planning

  • Providestrategic tax planning and advisory support to both local andinternational clients.
  • Adviseon structuring, cross-border transactions, and double taxation agreements.
  • Supportmergers, acquisitions, and restructurings with tax-efficient guidance.
  • Conductrisk assessments and manage SARS reviews or audits.
  • Identifyand implement opportunities for tax optimisation and efficiency.

Internal Operations

  • Manageinternal tax compliance calendars and submission workflows.
  • Maintainoversight of filing accuracy, process efficiency, and quality control.
  • Collaboratewith leadership to enhance systems, automation, and reporting.
  • Supportinternal tax training and knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Lead,train, and mentor the tax team to ensure excellence in delivery.
  • Promoteaccountability, precision, and professional development.
  • Reviewteam outputs for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.

Client Growth and Integration

  • Identifyopportunities to extend company's tax and advisory services.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field (SAIPA/SAICA/CTA qualification preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in corporate and individual tax compliance and advisory.
  • Strong technical understanding of South African tax legislation and SARS systems.
  • Solid understanding of international tax legislations.
  • Proven experience managing tax teams and diverse client portfolios.
  • Proficient in eFiling, EasyFile, Xero, and Excel.
  • Experience with cross-border or international tax clients advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
