The ideal candidate will possess a relevant tertiary qualification, a minimum of 10 years in mining safety, and robust leadership capabilities. Key responsibilities include compliance with safety legislation, effective management of safety systems, and fostering a proactive safety culture across all operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in mining safety, with at least 5 in a senior leadership role.
• Strong understanding of South African safety legislation (MHSA, OHSA).
• Incident investigation and root cause analysis training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of company health and safety systems.
• Ensure compliance with safety legislation and obligations of the CEO & COO.
• Monitor effectiveness of safety systems and report on implementation progress.
