Role Purpose
The Product Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the deployment of IT processes and enhancements within the company's technology environment. The role focuses on establishing consistent, efficient, and scalable IT process frameworks that support operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across Group IT.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and oversee the implementation of new IT processes and enhancements to existing IT processes.
- Define, maintain, and continuously improve the IT reference process framework, ensuring alignment with the company's standards and best practices.
- Ensure the IT process framework is consistently leveraged and adopted across Group IT teams.
- Create and maintain a centralized repository of IT process artefacts, including: Process documentation, procedures, templates, forms and guidelines.
- Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and process improvement opportunities within IT operations.
- Initiate and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and service delivery.
- Collaborate with technology, operations, risk, and governance teams to ensure processes support compliance and audit requirements.
- Support change management initiatives related to process updates and new implementations.
- Provide guidance and support to stakeholders on process usage and adherence.
- Monitor process performance and recommend enhancements where required.
Key Skills and Competencies
Technical / Functional Skills
- Strong understanding of IT process frameworks (e.g. ITIL, COBIT).
- Experience in IT process design, documentation, and implementation.
- Knowledge of process governance, controls, and compliance environments.
- Experience managing process artefacts and documentation repositories.
- Ability to analyse current-state vs future-state processes.
Core Competencies

- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.
- Ability to work in structured, highly regulated environments (banking or financial services preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline.
- Ability to work independently within a contract-based delivery model.
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in IT process engineering, process improvement, or technology operations roles.
- Banking or financial services experience is highly advantageous.
- Experience working in large enterprise or corporate IT environments preferred.
