Role Purpose / Business Unit

The specialist legal advisor will provide support within the Legal Affairs team by assisting in the drafting, review, and negotiation of legal documents, conducting legal research, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations across a range of commercial, corporate, and intellectual property (IP) matters within a fast-paced telecommunications environment.

The role involves supporting senior members of the legal team with transactions, contract drafting and negotiation, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and protection of the company’s intellectual property assets.

The incumbent will develop a broad understanding of the business, applying sound legal judgement and a solutions-oriented approach to support strategic and operational objectives.

The role offers a strong foundation for progression within the Legal Affairs team, providing exposure to complex commercial transactions and cross-functional business collaboration.

Your responsibilities includeh3>
  • Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements and correspondence under the guidance of senior members of the team.
  • Build effective relationships and collaborate closely with various business teams and internal stakeholders to provide timely and pragmatic legal support.
  • Undertake legal research and provide clear, concise advice on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters affecting the business.
  • Assist in managing and maintaining the company’s IP portfolio, including trademarks, copyrights, and domain names and support associated IP clearance searches and risk assessments, registrations, renewals, and enforcement activities.
  • Regular proactive stakeholder engagement.
  • Periodic review of company policies to ensure compliance and alignment with legislation and Vodafone policies, where applicable.
  • Identify potential legal and contractual risks, providing practical, solutions-oriented recommendations.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of legal policies, templates, and process improvements.
  • Assist in developing internal processes to manage legal risk effectively across business functions.
  • Investigate and report on customer and stakeholder queries which arise from time to time.
The ideal candidate for this role will have
  • LLB degree (or equivalent legal qualification).
  • Admitted attorney (or in the process of admission).
  • 0–2 years' post-qualification experience, ideally within a telecommunications or technology-focused legal environment.
  • Commercial law, drafting and negotiation experience, with ability to provide innovative legal solutions in a fast moving industry.
