Solutions Architect :

Location: Johannesburg

Role type: Hybrid (2 to 3 days in office - Sandton area)

Note : This is a 6 to 12 month renewable contract position.

We're looking for an experiencedSolutions Architectto lead the design and delivery of enterprise-grade technology solutions across a complex, value-driven environment.

This role is ideal for someone who combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership, communication, and architectural governance skills.

As a key technical authority, you will defineend-to-end architecturefor full-stackJava / Springapplications, microservices, and hybrid cloud platforms.

You'll guide engineering teams throughout the SDLC, shaping standards, ensuring compliance, and driving best practice across performance, security, and solution design.

You'll work collaboratively with architects, principal engineers, developers, UX designers, BAs, external partners, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, resilient solutions that align with business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end solution architecture across enterprise full-stack Java applications.
• Design scalable, secure, resilient architectures usingJava / J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST / SOAP APIs, React, and modern integration patterns.
• Define microservices architectures, cloud and hybrid‑cloud deployments, and integration solutions.
• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into compliant, high-quality designs.
• Own Solution Design documentation, design governance, standards, and architectural patterns.
• Provide architectural leadership, mentoring, code standards, performance benchmarks, and security protocols.
• Act as SME for technical estimation, architectural issue resolution, and incident / problem management.
• Support Agile delivery teams, DevOps practices, CI / CD pipelines, and continuous improvement.
• Encourage best‑practice development, testing, and deployment across engineering teams.

Skills & Experience

• Strong development background on large-scale applications.
• Expertise across design, development, build, testing, and deployment tools.

• Experience in Agile (ideally SAFe) and DevOps / CI / CD environments.

• Experience across Waterfall & Agile models.
