A leading inventory management company in South Africa is seeking an experienced Production / Reworks Supervisor to lead the Reworks team and ensure efficient completion of production tasks. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production / Reworks Supervisor to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Reworks team, ensuring that all production tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

The Production / Reworks Supervisor will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Reworks department.
This includes overseeing the planning and execution of rework schedules, ensuring that products meet quality standards, and managing inventory levels.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for supervising a team of staff, providing guidance and support as needed, and ensuring that all tasks are completed within designated timeframes.
Confirm accurate inventory capture and reflection on SAP system.
Manage reworks inventory optimally, ensuring stock levels meet minimum buffer requirements.
Maintain packaging material inventory administration.
Assemble Reworks daily schedule to reflect Sales Forecasts and SKUs / volume.
Liaise with Planning Team to ensure projected Reworks schedule aligns with Sales Forecasts.
Optimize Reworks buffers stock at all times.
Acquire Bill of Materials (BOM) planning information for compiling daily Reworks Schedule.
Compile daily, weekly, and monthly schedules prioritizing products needing rework / repacking.
Assign tasks, manage team productivity, and complete tasks within scheduled times.
Create efficient production workflow for assigned teams.
Prioritize duties, giving preference to urgent tasks from Sales, Planning, and Management.
Allocate picking of inventory against BOM to Reach Truck Operator allocated to Reworks.
Oversee and check samples made by the team, reporting any issues to Planning Department and Warehouse Manager.
Supervise team, ensuring completed tasks are consolidated on generic pallets.
Monitor hourly production volumes, assessing root cause and implementing corrective measures when necessary.
Investigate shortfalls in quantities set out in Reworks schedule and rectify SOPs as necessary.
Follow Put Away Policy and Procedure in binning reworked inventory.
Hand-over product and BOM to Inventory Team once BOM has been closed.
Conduct cycle count of bin locations containing reworked inventory items daily.
Check products before leaving Reworks Department to ensure quality standards met.
Examine products and resolve issues to improve quality, enhance customer satisfaction, and maintain company reputation.
Prepare correspondence, reports, statistics related to Department operations, and operations, maintenance, and safety manuals.
Define key performance indicators for roles in Reworks Department to measure effectiveness.
Interview, select, coach, train, manage, and appraise staff performance.
Problem solve, negotiate, and address staff challenges in Department.
Cultivate culture of teamwork in Department.
Manage staff performance to ensure KPIs and SLAs are met continuously.
Institute disciplinary proceedings with HR Department for non-compliance with KPIs / JDs.
Escalate incidents requiring involvement of Warehouse Manager and / or senior management.
Carry out other duties as required by Warehouse Manager and / or Company Senior Management.
Collect data on individual staff and / or teams' performance according to set KPIs.
Comply with Company procedures, rules, and regulations.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
