A leading consulting firm in mining is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to manage and execute projects related to underground mining infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have over 6 years of relevant experience and a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Responsibilities include engineering design input into feasibility studies and project management, with opportunities to work nationally and internationally. The successful candidate will be responsible for and involved in planning, managing and executing projects related to mining mechanical infrastructure and engineering, project review, capital cost assessment and estimation for mainly underground mining projects. Such project work will include:
The role will involve work on a national and international level encompassing the following: proposal writing; work planning, budgeting, and execution; data analysis; technical reporting; liaison with other local and international SRK consultants; client liaison; internal and external resourcing (e.g. contractors); logistics planning; and budgeting and quality assurance.
