Location: Redhill School, Johannesburg

Redhill School, a leading independent, co-educational school in Johannesburg, is seeking to appoint a Senior English Teacher to join our dynamic academic team in January 2026.

We are looking for an exceptional educator with a passion for literature, critical thinking, and language mastery. The successful candidate will teach English at the Senior School level and play a key role in supporting the continued growth of the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme at Redhill.

Responsibilities

Teach English at the Senior School level and contribute to the ongoing development and growth of the IB Diploma Programme English offering.

Qualifications
  • A relevant teaching qualification and a degree in English or related field.
  • Registration with SACE.
  • Experience in teaching the IB Diploma Programme English is highly advantageous.
  • Alternatively, a willingness and enthusiasm to work closely with our current IB English teacher and learn to teach IB as the programme expands.
  • Strong knowledge of contemporary and classic literature, and an ability to inspire a love of reading and writing.
  • A proven track record of excellence in teaching at the FET phase (Grades 10–12).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a commitment to innovative, student-centred learning.
