Job description
The Business Development Manager is a Johannesburg-based role that is responsible for driving cybersecurity managed services and product offerings for South Africa. They bring an in-depth knowledge of services to crafting fit-for-purpose solutions in support of NTT clients and ensuring that their crafted solution(s) meet client requirements.
Key Role and Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in cybersecurity managed services and product offerings for South Africa
- Responsible for the nett new services business target (GP)
- Develop go-to-market strategies for cybersecurity services and solutions.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of clients
- Collaborate with regional sales teams to drive revenue growth and market penetration.
- Achieve set and agreed sales targets to meet specified financial goals
- Engage with enterprise clients to understand their cybersecurity needs and challenges
- Translate client requirements into tailored managed service and product solutions
- Lead client workshops and presentations to position cybersecurity offerings
- Support pre-sales activities including RFP/RFI responses and bid management
- Work closely with the Services Architect in defining product specifications, pricing models, and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure service readiness and scalability.
- Monitor product/service performance and client satisfaction to inform enhancements
- Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis:
- Conduct market research to identify trends, threats, and opportunities in cybersecurity to enhance portfolio offerings.
- Research and interpret competitor offerings and market trends against NTT client base with a strong data analysis focus
- Benchmark against competitors and identify differentiators.
- Provide insights to leadership on emerging technologies and regulatory changes
- Vendor and partner collaboration
- Build strategic relationships with cybersecurity technology vendors and service providers.
- Ensure alignment between vendor roadmaps and internal service capabilities
- Sales Enablement and training
- Develop sales collateral, product documentation, and training materials
- Train internal teams on cybersecurity offerings and value propositions
- Support sales teams with deal structuring and client engagement strategies.
- Compliance
- Ensure cybersecurity services comply with global regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST)
- Collaborate with legal and risk teams to assess and mitigate service-related risks
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Drive innovation in cybersecurity service delivery and automation
- Identify opportunities for service optimization and cost reduction
- Work with Group Capability Leads to incorporate AI, threat intelligence, and advanced analytics into offerings
- Reporting and Stakeholder Communication
- Provide regular updates to executive leadership on business performance and strategic initiatives.
- Prepare dashboards and reports for internal and client stakeholders.
- Represent the cybersecurity business in cross-functional forums and leadership meetings
- Review of product profitability
- Determines the appropriateness of pricing of existing and new investments strategies in line with projected value, competitor offerings and market trends

- Expert knowledge on relevant legislative amendments industry best practices and provision of proactive advice and solutions to relevant stakeholders
- Knowledge of sales strategies and concepts
Academic Qualifications and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology, network engineering and/or cyber security
- CISSP, CCSP, CISM and/or other security certifications
- OEM certifications for relevant security technologies
Experience required
- 10 years’ experience in the Security industry and selling/positioning security solutions with clients
- Strong comprehension of and experience in network, cloud, application and endpoint security solutions
- Experience with the products / solutions from the top security vendors
- Relevant experience in the technology industry
- Demonstrable track record of involvement in design and implementing new products or product lines.
