Job description

Safeguarding the organization's people, assets, and information by developing and implementing security policies, overseeing security personnel, managing budgets, conducting risk assessments, handling incidents, ensuring compliance, and collaborating with law enforcement to protect against threats, theft, and breaches. Responsible for strategic planning, training, and ensuring smooth operations for both physical security in the organization’s industrial settings

Requirements
  • Grade 12.
  • Minimum – National Diploma in Security Management or related (NQF6)
  • Advantageous – Degree in Criminal Justice (NQF7)
  • Advantageous - PSIRA Certification
  • 5 to 10 years in a Security or Law enforcement role or related
  • Be able to communicate well, read & write in English.
  • Be able to work and cope well in a team.
  • Own transportation arrangement.
Responsibilities
  • Combat inventory loss from all sources (theft, damage, administrative errors).
  • Directly impact the bottom line by safeguarding assets.
  • Recommend and implement control measures to effectively protect inventory, consumables and assets
  • Working in close liaison with HSE, Supply Chain, Finance, Dispatch and Operations to reduce shrinkage and contain costs related to theft damage and waste.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise security officers, guards, and other staff.
  • Manage daily security operations, monitor surveillance systems (CCTV, alarms), and coordinate incident responses.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and emergency response plans
  • Conduct security audits, assess vulnerabilities, and present improvement plans to management. Control security budgets, manage expenses, and oversee security technology/vendors
  • Work with law enforcement, emergency services, and other internal departments (HR, Legal).
  • Ensure adherence to relevant security laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Investigate breaches, document security incidents, and prepare reports for executives.
  • Ensure that Policies and Procedures are adhered visible safety leadership in all daily activities.
  • Maintain data integrity of product movement used by Conduct internal (employee theft, fraud) and evidence handling.
  • Perform audits, analyze to and provide proactive and Internal and External Parties
