A modern accounting firm is seeking a SAIPA registered accountant with at least two years of post-articles experience. This remote-first role requires someone comfortable managing client relationships and performing a full suite of accounting functions, including bookkeeping in Xero and preparing annual financial statements. You will be the main point of contact for clients, ensuring accurate accounts while offering exceptional service. The firm prides itself on a culture of freedom and growth.

We are a remote-first firm which means we do not have permanent office space, so you would need to be comfortable working from home — or wherever you prefer.

What we do
We provide a premium, full-suite, outsourced accounting function to SME's.
This includes bookkeeping, compliance, payroll, software integration, regular client meetings, and advisory.
We only work with retainer clients whom we service on a monthly basis.
We are looking for a SAIPA registered accountant who has completed their articles at a professional services firm, and who has at least two years of post-articles experience at a professional service firm.
Bookkeeping : reconciling all transactions in Xero; passing all required manual journals in Xero; maintaining the fixed asset register in Xero; reviewing the balance sheet and profit or loss; using Receipt Bank to capture supplier bills and push them through to Xero; creating a monthly management pack to send to the client.
Client meetings : meeting with the clients via MS Teams on a monthly basis to touch base on their management accounts and address any queries that they might have.
Maintaining the client relationship : comfortable being client-facing, problem-solving, able to work with the team.
Annual financial statements : preparing AFS in Draftworx Cloud.
Payroll reconciliations from the payroll system to Xero.
Income tax : submitting income tax and provisional tax returns for companies and their directors.
Ad-hoc client requests.
Reconciliations : creditor, debtor, payroll, fixed asset register, balance sheet, and all other recons to keep client accounts up to date.
Tax advice to clients regarding the tax effects of basic and more advanced transactions (income tax, payroll taxes, VAT, dividend taxes, etc.).
