The Project Manager will lead and manage built environment projects across all lifecycle stages, ensuring delivery within scope, time, and budget while maintaining quality standards. This role requires a technically proficient, registered professional with strong leadership, organizational, and stakeholder management capabilities.
Role responsibilities
- Project Delivery: Manage and oversee the execution of built environment projects through all lifecycle phases.
- Technical Competence: Apply advanced project management principles across all knowledge areas.
- Planning & Documentation: Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, reports, records, and documentation.
- Monitoring & Control: Track progress against cost, schedule, and scope baselines; implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Financial Management: Monitor project financials, prepare forecasts, process payment certificates, and manage invoicing.
- Risk & Issue Management: Identify, report, and proactively address risks and issues to minimize project impact.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate effectively with clients, user groups, professional teams, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with internal quality control and management procedures.
Role requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Project Management is advantageous.
Professional Registration:
- Current PrCPM registration with SACPCMP.
- Minimum 5 years post-registration experience in project management within the built environment.
- Additional registrations (e.g., PrTech) will be considered an advantage.
Experience & Knowledge:
- Proven track record managing built environment projects.
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary professional teams.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and related processes.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; MS Project experience highly desirable.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Strong organisational, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
