Job Overview
The Stock Planning & Operations role manages end-to-end stock planning, ordering, costing, regulatory compliance, systems administration, and reporting across the Motorcycle and Marine divisions, ensuring stock availability, financial accuracy, and operational compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse stock on hand, stock on order, sales run rates, and lead times to determine replenishment requirements.
- Compile planned orders and align recommendations with sales, finance, and management.
- Prepare, submit, and manage purchase and production orders, including approvals and supplier submission.
- Monitor order status and update cashflow forecasts accordingly.
- Track shipments, manage ETAs, and coordinate stock receipting upon arrival.
- Verify quantities, specifications, and pricing against approved purchase orders.
- Pre-cost shipments and finalise landed costs to support pricing accuracy and margin control.
- Maintain indicative costing models and implement approved price changes.
- Manage homologation, NRCS, ICASA, NATIS, SAMAR, and MM code requirements for all applicable models.
- Coordinate documentation, testing, inspections, and regulatory submissions.
- Maintain accurate stock codes, pricing, and master data on Syspro and the Tuning Fork Portal (TFP).
- Ensure system integrity, data accuracy, and timely updates across platforms.
- Build, maintain, and update TFP to ensure accurate dealer visibility of models, pricing, and arrivals.
- Archive obsolete models and manage ongoing system improvements.
- Compile, validate, and distribute month-end, management, and supplier reports.
- Analyse stock, ageing, and rollout data to support business decisions.
- Support stock budgeting, forecasting, and alignment with sales demand and dealer requirements.
- Maintain budget templates and assist with executive budget reviews.
- Provide operational support to sales teams and dealers on stock availability, ETAs, and specifications.
- Assist with order processing during peak periods and month-end.
- Maintain relationships with key suppliers and attend operational and planning meetings.
- Act as a liaison between suppliers, sales, finance, and management.
- Provide support, guidance, and quality oversight to team members.
- Contribute to process improvements and cross-functional initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
- Proven experience in stock planning, supply chain, logistics, or operations.
- Strong analytical capability with advanced Excel skills.
- Experience working with ERP systems (Syspro advantageous).
- High attention to detail with strong organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
