A leading energy management company in Johannesburg seeks a Business VP for Power Systems to lead their operations and drive strategic growth. This role requires significant experience in MV products and energy sector sales, as well as strong P&L management and leadership capabilities. The successful candidate will develop and execute growth strategies while managing a team of professionals, ensuring a focus on digital transformation and customer experience. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering and an MBA are preferred.
The Business VP for Power Systems operates as a general manager responsible for leading Schneider Electric's Power Systems and Power Services business in the cluster.
This role drives strategic growth by advancing sustainability, digital transformation, electrification, and customer experience simplification through world-class digitalization.
Key Responsibilities Develop and execute growth strategies for MV product portfolio, Digital Grid (DMS), and Power Services.
Adapt and deploy global strategy to the local market with clear priorities and communication.
Achieve sales, revenue, profitability, and margin targets.
Implement an end-to-end specialist model from sales to project delivery.
Drive pipeline growth and define Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy for key Power Systems segments.
Manage strategic relationships with EPCs, Utilities, End Users, and consultants.
Lead C-level negotiations and major commercial engagements.
Oversee offer management, pricing, value engineering, and competitive analysis.
Operational & P&L Accountability Full P&L responsibility for Power Systems in the cluster.
Work closely with ETO factories for forecasting, capacity planning, and profitable loading.
Lead tendering and execution teams within the zone.
Drive key business transformations : green, digital, and recurring revenue models.
Lead and develop a team of + professionals across the region.
Build a high-performance culture with strong talent development.
Navigate matrixed organizational structures and drive cross-functional collaboration.
Strengthen internal and external stakeholder relationships.
Required Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering; MBA preferred.
25+ years of experience in MV products, energy sector sales and projects.
Demonstrated experience managing a full P&L for a business or country.
Experience with long-cycle solution sales and complex commercial environments.
Strong leadership experience managing large, geographically distributed teams.
Deep understanding of digital solutions, MV systems, and utility operations.
Strong strategic thinking and execution capabilities.
Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
Change management and crisis leadership experience.
Ability to build strong relationships with partners, investors, and global stakeholders.
