Job Description

A leading renewable energy provider is seeking an experienced Risk Consultant to strengthen its governance and operational resilience. This role will focus on developing and embedding an enterprise risk management framework that supports strategic decision making across the business. Working closely with executive leadership and cross functional teams, the successful candidate will play a key role in integrating risk management into day-to-day operations within a purpose-driven, sustainability focused environment. This role will start on a part-time consulting basis for a fixed term period. (Period to be confirmed).

The consultant will work closely with executive leadership and cross functional teams including Operations, Finance, Legal, Governance, Risk, Business Support, and the Board.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct an Enterprise Risk Management maturity assessment, identifying existing practices, gaps, and improvement opportunities

Design and implement a fit for purpose Enterprise Risk Management framework aligned to business size and maturity, including - Risk Management policy and procedures - Risk appetite and tolerance statements - Clear delegation of accountability, roles, and responsibilities - Risk templates including risk registers, heat maps, and reporting formats

Facilitate enterprise wide and departmental risk workshops covering strategic, operational, project, ESG, legal, and financial risks

Develop and maintain an Enterprise Risk Register at both corporate and project level

Support risk software enablement and integration with existing ERP systems, including - Evaluation of available software solutions - Configuration of dashboards, risk heat maps, and automated reporting

Develop executive level dashboards and reports for ongoing governance and decision making

Provide training, skills transfer, and capacity building for internal teams through - Training materials - Live workshops - Handover documentation

Key Objectives and Outcomes

Deliver a comprehensive ERM maturity and gap analysis report

Implement an ERM framework aligned with international best practices, including a three year roadmap to increased maturity

Establish departmental risk registers and cross functional risk ownership

Define risk appetite and tolerance thresholds for key business functions

Enable ERP based ERM integration and Support improved compliance, operational resilience, and strategic execution

Risk maturity assessment report with recommendations

Consolidated corporate and project level risk register

Quarterly risk dashboard and executive and board reporting templates

Software review and recommendation report and Training materials and facilitated workshop sessions

Requirements

6 - 10years' experience in risk management, internal audit, or governance

Proven experience designing and implementing Enterprise Risk Management frameworks

Strong working knowledge of international risk standards such as ISO 31000 and COSO

Excellent analytical, facilitation, and presentation skills

Strong written communication and report writing capability

Advantageous Experience

Experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, or utilities environments

Strong Excel skills and experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI

Pragmatic and collaborative consulting approach and High level of integrity, attention to detail, and strong problem solving ability

Fixed contract based engagement with potential renewal
Hybrid working model from own home office setup with onsite engagement in Centurion and remote flexibility
