The Role: Millwright

This role is central to maintaining and improving manufacturing equipment across the plant, from production machinery to warehouse systems. The Millwright will drive automation initiatives, support capital and non-capital projects, and ensure compliance with electrical and safety standards. It's a dynamic and hands‑on role ideal for someone proactive and solutions‑driven.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct electrical and mechanical repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance.
  • Execute and improve the planned maintenance system and update technical documentation.
  • Drive automation improvements, including PLC programming and AC/DC drive configuration.
  • Assist with capital and non‑capital project execution, including equipment commissioning.
  • Perform job costing, material requisitions, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate job card documentation and report on maintenance activities daily.
  • Ensure all work meets SABS/SANS 10142‑01‑2012 standards and includes COC where required.
About You
  • Red Seal qualified Millwright with N4 Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of mechanical and electrical experience.
  • Strong background in hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC systems.
  • Proficient in fault‑finding, panel wiring, and understanding of electrical drawings.
  • Computer‑literate with knowledge of MS Office and maintenance systems.
  • Able to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Willingness to be on call and work weekends when required.
