A leading maintenance service provider in Cape Town is looking for a Maintenance Technician to ensure facilities are safe and functional. In this role, you will perform tasks such as plumbing, basic electrical repairs, and routine inspections. Candidates should have 2-5 years of relevant experience, strong troubleshooting abilities, and a willingness to learn. In this role, you will carry out a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure that all assigned buildings, equipment, and facilities remain safe, functional, and well‑presented. You will attend to plumbing issues, perform basic electrical repairs, complete routine painting and touch‑ups, undertake minor carpentry work, and support the upkeep of heating and cooling systems. You will conduct regular inspections, respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner, and provide general support across various building systems to maintain a high standard of operational readiness. You will play an important role in ensuring the smooth running of the facility and helping create a safe, well‑maintained environments for all occupants. You will report a Health, Safety & Facilities Manager.

You will be responsible for performing basic maintenance tasks, including painting, filling crevices, and managing general repair work across all Sigma properties. You will take ownership of locker maintenance, ensuring lockers are arranged, maintained, and repaired, including performing lock cuts when required. You will handle minor plumbing, drainage, painting, and floor‑covering tasks, as well as carry out light maintenance activities such as replacing light bulbs at reasonable heights and monitoring and refilling water dispensers.
You will respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner and ensure plumbing, electrical, and safety systems are repaired as needed. In addition, you will maintain the organisation and cleanliness of all storage and filing areas, complete and update weekly report sheets on all work performed and keep your line manager informed of all completed tasks. You will liaise with the appropriate suppliers or contractors for repairs, conduct weekly health, safety, and security checks to ensure building compliance, and assist with COVID screening if required.
