About the Company:

A well-established Plastic Injection Moulding company in Atlantis is seeking a Junior Toolmaker to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and skilled individual who has recently completed their Trade Test and is looking to gain experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Job Summary:

The Junior Toolmaker will be responsible for various tasks related to toolmaking, mechanical maintenance, and mould changes. This role requires a hands-on approach, working across multiple functions within the toolroom and production areas to ensure the smooth operation of injection moulding processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Toolmaking & Repairs: Manufacture, assemble, modify, and repair plastic injection moulding tools, ensuring precision and functionality.
  • Mechanical Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on tooling and production equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Mould Changes & Setups: Assist in hanging, setting up, and aligning moulds in injection moulding machines.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect tools and components for defects and compliance with specifications.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to moulds, tools, and mechanical failures.
  • CNC & Manual Machining: Operate milling machines, lathes, grinders, and CNC equipment as required.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain records of tool maintenance, repairs, and modifications.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations in the workshop and production areas.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 1-3 years of post-Trade Test experience in a toolroom environment.
  • Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in a Plastic Injection Moulding environment is advantageous.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong machining and hand-finishing skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Understanding of precision measurements and tolerances.
  • Familiarity with CNC machining and conventional machines.
