About the Role
Our client, a leading security technology company, is seeking an experienced and hands‑on ICT Manager to join their team based in Nelspruit. This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing all client‑facing electronic security systems, maintaining internal IT and network infrastructure, and providing critical technical support to the sales division. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem‑solving skills, and the ability to manage both operational and strategic ICT functions within a high‑performance environment.
A valid driver’s license, own reliable vehicle, and a clear criminal record are essential requirements for this role.
What you’ll be doing
- Oversee, schedule, and execute all preventative and corrective maintenance activities for client CCTV, VMS, and electronic security systems.
- Conduct advanced diagnostics and fault‑finding to resolve complex technical issues while ensuring adherence to SLAs and quality standards.
- Design, implement, and administer local network architecture, including routers, firewalls, servers, VPNs, and wireless access points.
- Manage network security protocols, perform system backups, and implement disaster recovery procedures to ensure data protection and business continuity.
- Provide expert‑level technical support for all internal IT‑related issues and act as the primary escalation point for the Nelspruit business unit.
- Manage IT assets, oversee software licensing, and perform setup, configuration, and troubleshooting for all employee devices.
- Prepare detailed Bills of Material, system designs, and accurate quotations for new CCTV and integrated security system proposals.
- Collaborate with the sales team to conduct technical site surveys and ensure proposed designs are technically sound, compliant, and aligned with client requirements.
What you’ll need
- National Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Systems, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in ICT systems management, network administration, or electronic security technology support.
- Strong technical knowledge of CCTV systems (preferably Hikvision) and Video Management Software (e.g. Axxon, Milestone, or similar).
- Proven experience managing LAN/WAN networks, servers, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless infrastructure.
- Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Server, Active Directory, and Office 365 administration.
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity protocols, data protection, and disaster recovery planning.
- Ability to interpret and design technical drawings, BOMs, and system architecture diagrams.
- Experience providing end‑user IT support and managing hardware/software assets within a business environment.
- Strong diagnostic, problem‑solving, and analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues under pressure.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills across operational, sales, and technical teams.
- Must be willing to travel locally within the Mpumalanga region when required.
- Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport essential.
- Medically fit for duty and able to work within operational environments (e.g., client premises, control rooms, and technical sites).
