Overview

African Angels School in Chintsa East (outside East London) is seeking a qualified Foundation Phase educator for a maternity leave post beginning in January 2026. African Angels is a small independent primary school, serving the community of Chintsa East. We are looking for a lifelong learner who continually undertakes personal inquiry, reflection and action to inform their practice and understanding of teaching & learning, and who shares and collaborates with their colleagues.

Responsibilities
  • Teach Foundation Phase learners and contribute to a maternity leave arrangement beginning in January 2026.
  • Engage in ongoing personal inquiry, reflection and action to inform practice and understanding of teaching & learning.
  • Share and collaborate with colleagues to support student learning and school initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Education Foundation Phase (only)
  • SACE Registration
  • South African citizen or permanent resident
Desirable experience and attributes
  • Experience teaching English as a 2nd language
  • Experience teaching Foundation Phase
