Job description
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Participate in the strategic management of the company.
  • Accurate reporting to Management and the holding company: includes monthly financial reporting packs to the holding company and a monthly ex‑co pack (including management accounts) ahead of ex‑co meetings.
  • Preparation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, weekly profit forecasts, and cash forecasts.
  • Provide related commercial reporting.
  • Effectively manage working capital.
  • Run external and internal audits.
  • Manage submission of annual tax returns, monthly VAT returns, and all related tax compliance.
  • Oversee BEE reporting and compliance.
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and ensure effective internal controls.
  • Provide a high standard of financial controls and strong directional financial leadership.
  • Ensure adherence to holding company reporting standards and policies.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships and communication with subordinates, sales staff, group finance, and executive management.
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • CA (SA)
  • Technically sound in IFRS and tax.
  • Minimum of six years related post‑qualification experience.
  • Proven track record.
  • Expertise in financial planning & control, preferably with import and distribution exposure.
  • Strategic management exposure and well‑developed business acumen.
  • High level of IT exposure & information systems management.

The candidate must have strong leadership skills and the ability to direct and motivate subordinates, a high level of work ethic and integrity, and be a results‑oriented, decisive, and proactive person. The ideal candidate, in addition to the above, must possess these qualities.
