About the role

FET Mathematical Literacy Teacher (Grades )

As our high school Math Literacy educator, you'll help learners build a practical understanding of mathematics and how it applies to everyday life, business, and entrepreneurial contexts.

You will play a key role in preparing learners for real-world financial and data-driven decision-making.

Your responsibilities
  • Teach Mathematical Literacy (Grades ) within the IEB curriculum
  • Create and deliver engaging lessons that connect math to real-life applications and entrepreneurial thinking
  • Prepare learners thoroughly for the IEB final examinations
  • Foster critical numeracy, financial literacy, and problem-solving skills
  • Use innovative methods and tools to make abstract concepts accessible and relevant
  • Support learners with diverse needs in a nurturing and disciplined environment
  • Collaborate with a forward-thinking academic team
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, training, and coaching
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Education with FET phase specialization – non-negotiable
  • Permanent SACE registration (with valid certification) – non-negotiable
  • 3+ years of teaching experience in the FET phase (preferably in an IEB context)
  • Strong understanding of IEB assessment standards and curriculum planning
