Howden MEA Projects Division (covering the African and Middle East regions) is looking for an experienced specialist in the field of fan station and ventilation systems design.
This position is responsible for preparing innovative and competent technical solutions and tenders in the marketing and sales of turnkey projects, and for providing competent ventilation solutions to mining and industrial customers with an aim to add value to their infrastructure and development needs.
Engineering: Effectively engage customers with application enquiries, perform fan station designs and selections based on customer specifications, understand all requirements clearly, prepare well‑written tender documents inclusive of all returnable documents, lead each application's opportunity through the tender to order process, drive accurate forecasting of opportunities, and ensure customer feedback is captured to add value to engagements.
Documentation: Pre‑engineer fan system designs and generate fan curves suitable for selections, engage with legal and commercial departments to mitigate risks while satisfying client expectations, generate project budget documents, and produce accurate tender programmes and organograms to define scope and overhead within short lead times.
Engineering Support: Provide engineering support during the tendering phase, run a collaborative design process with the team to ensure solutions and supply scopes are clearly defined and tested, and advise on market and engineering trends to save on cost, design, and time.
Project Management: Act as project manager for various projects when required to ensure projects meet agreed standards and are delivered within agreed timeframes.
Customer relations: Develop relationships to promote Howden and Chart products, introduce enhancements to existing equipment, and engage early with customers, project houses, EPCs and consulting firms at planning stages.
Managing Tenders: Adhere to the tender process—including enquiry, risk, contracts, costs, and submission—to client specifications and Howden standards.
Marketing: Contribute to marketing of company products and technologies to convert tenders into sales in accordance with company procedure.
Compliance: Maintain SOX compliance by adhering to Sarbanes‑Oxley and AX controls.
