Job summary

A logistics solutions provider based in Midrand, South Africa, is seeking a Dispatch Supervisor to manage export operations ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of products. The role requires a blend of technical and business skills, with an emphasis on developing dispatch principles and managing external transporters. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in freight forwarding and pricing, along with a solid understanding of shipping processes and regulatory compliance. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Freight Forwarding.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Pricing / Estimates.
• Africa Cross Border Knowledge is advantageous.
• Understanding of incoterms is critical.
• Understanding of shipping line processes and requirements.
• Understanding of port charges and processes.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement dispatch principles, policies, and processes.
• Manage the movement of outgoing export orders.
• Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements with transporters.
• Inspect and track shipments to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Negotiate rates with 3PL service providers.
• Ensure all export shipments comply with regulations.
