Full Time: Teaching Post for Academic Teacher: Afrikaans and Natural Science - FULL TIME
Start Date: Jan 2026
Salary: dependent on candidate’s teaching experience.

Interested teachers are required to teach a session of Afrikaans and Natural Science as part of the screening process.

Our client is non-profit organisation specialising in vocational training and high school students that learn differently. The school was founded as a viable alternative for high school learners who cannot cope or develop in mainstream schooling. The school is a private school and runs on the three – term ISASA school calendar.

The school provides a nurturing community for students that do not fit the traditional, academic box. Its unique academic and vocational offering prepares teens for the world of work and life beyond the school gates.

Profile of teacher required
  • The teacher has at least 3 years or more, of teaching experience in a senior primary school setting.
  • Experience with neuro diverse learners is a plus. He/she should be knowledgeable in the different learning styles of special needs students and teaching methodologies.
  • Is proficient in administration such as lesson planning.
  • Can work closely with a curriculum structure without official textbooks but can develop creative, meaningful, practical teaching material.
  • Is able to differentiate learning materials to suit learners needs in one class, for both Maths and English subjects. The teacher should be flexible and easily adapt to the learning styles of students.
  • The teacher should be comfortable with group, one on one, co- operative, paired teaching, simulations and encouraging experiential learning. They should also be able to use technological aids.
  • The teacher should show a passion for imparting knowledge to learners and should be nurturing, empathetic but also firm.
  • The teacher needs to be comfortable teaching 14 – 19-year-olds who function at the cognitive and emotional level of a senior primary student.
