Overview

A technology organization is seeking an experienced Web Developer to support medium- to large-scale, mission‑critical applications. The ideal candidate has a strong background in modern web development, experience maintaining both current and legacy applications, and is able to work in a structured hybrid schedule. This role requires local on-site availability several days per week.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex web applications across modern and legacy platforms.
• Implement secure, maintainable, scalable application features in alignment with organizational standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including analysts, testers, and architects.
• Participate in code reviews, performance optimization, troubleshooting, and documentation.
• Maintain older systems to ensure reliability and support modernization efforts when needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing medium to large, mission‑critical web systems.
• Ability to provide a secure, professional remote work environment, including reliable internet, monitors, docking station, peripherals, and a private workspace.
• Must be geographically located within the designated region and able to work on-site 3 days/week in a hybrid capacity.
• Ability to maintain a 40-hour weekly schedule (or 32 hours during holiday weeks), with consistent daily attendance; all time off must be approved in advance.
• Comfortable working in a structured schedule: Remote: Monday & Friday; Onsite: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.

Preferred Skills & Technologies

• Modern Web Development: Java 11 & Java 21, Spring Framework / Spring Boot (2.6 & 3), Spring JDBC, HTML, CSS3, SASS, Angular (including Material Design and PWAs), JavaScript / TypeScript, REST APIs, Distributed architecture patterns.
• Legacy & Maintenance Technologies: Java 8, Struts 1 & 2, Hibernate 3 / JPA, jQuery and jQuery DataTables (versions 1.8–1.12), Subversion, Ant.
• UI/UX & Design Tools: Experience converting Figma Material Design into Angular components.
• Database & BI Experience: Informix, PostgreSQL, SQL and other relational databases; experience with BI tools, mobile development, or emerging technologies is a plus.
• Industry Domain Experience (Preferred): Hands‑on web development experience in criminal justice systems (Courts, Public Safety, Law Enforcement, Corrections, Parole Boards, Criminal Justice Commissions).
• Bonus Experience: Familiarity with VIBE Coding rapid development methodology.
