Salary & Benefits: R1 059 105 – R1 247 574 per annum (all-inclusive package). The successful candidate may structure the total package to include a 13th cheque. Housing, Medical Aid, and Pension contributions are included.
About the Role
Our client is seeking to appoint a Cybersecurity Engineer to design and implement security measures that protect systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. Reporting to the Senior Manager: ICT, this role involves developing security policies, conducting risk assessments, and empowering staff with best practices to safeguard the technology environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design enterprise-wide security frameworks and solutions aligned with organisational goals and compliance requirements.
- Ensure architecture supports scalability, resilience, and adaptability to emerging threats.
- Perform white box penetration testing and vulnerability scans; oversee grey/black box penetration testing and scans.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging security technologies.
- Collaborate with ICT, DevOps, and software development teams to embed security in system designs.
- Support audits by providing detailed documentation and evidence of security controls.
- Prepare reports on incident responses, vulnerabilities, and system performance.
- Forecast and manage budgets for cybersecurity projects and tools.
- Evaluate, negotiate, and manage contracts for security tools and services.
- Establish monitoring processes for system performance and security metrics.
- Conduct risk assessments and prioritise remediation efforts.
- Develop and maintain security policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines.
- Promote cybersecurity awareness and training programs across the organisation.
- Align cybersecurity goals with overall business strategy.
Requirements
- Relevant qualification at NQF Level 7 or equivalent.
- NQF Level 8 qualification advantageous.
- Eight years’ relevant work experience in a cybersecurity environment.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CSIM, or CASP+ advantageous.
