Job description

Responsible for formulating and executing Company Strategy imperatives and Global Strategy aiming to accelerate growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies in line with company goals and objectives, to expand market share in addressable market and enter new segments be fitting the market leader in SA Home & Garden
  • Collaborate with and coordinate diverse teams to execute on company strategy
  • Manage new divisions to be designed in E-Commerce and Exports International
  • Research and analysis supporting Innovation, Business Intelligence & future-focused skill sets/capability
  • Enhance existing market research and analysis to enrich current business plans on market expansion opportunities (New geographies UK & Australia, E-Commerce, SSA)
  • Oversight of existing customer and supplier relationships
  • Lead negotiations with suppliers and customers; managing and reviewing legal contracts, trade agreements and making recommendations regarding commerciality
  • Design and implement new sales and customer & consumer retention strategies
  • Develop business plans for entering new markets in SSA
  • Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics to build sales excellence and develop new ways of understanding the customer and consumer
  • Build and maintain profitable partnerships with key stakeholders
  • Assist with setting, managing and monitoring economic profit targets
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • BSc/MSc (Agronomy or related)
  • A Post graduate MBA will be advantageous
  • At least 5-10years work experience as a Commercial Manager/Director, preferably in a similar industry
  • Must be bilingual/multilingual
  • Proven experience in sales and/or marketing and managing relationships with key clients
  • Strong commercial awareness, along with an entrepreneurial and strategic mindset
  • In-depth understanding of market research methods and analysis
  • Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes
  • Commercial awareness partnered with a strategic mindset
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills
