Responsibilities
  • Lead and motivate a team of catering staff
  • Provide training, guidance, and performance evaluations to ensure a high‑performing and cohesive team
  • Plan and coordinate catering services for a variety of events
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their specific requirements and preferences
  • Create and update diverse menus that cater to different tastes, dietary restrictions, and cultural preferences
  • Work closely with chefs to ensure the highest quality of food and presentation
  • Develop and manage catering budgets, ensuring cost‑effectiveness and profitability
  • Monitor expenses, negotiate supplier contracts, and identify opportunities for cost savings
  • Maintain strict quality control measures to ensure the consistency and excellence of catering services
  • Conduct regular inspections and evaluations to uphold hygiene and safety standards
Requirements
  • Grade 12
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience
  • Valid drivers license and own transport essential
  • Must be able to assist with menu development and function menus and daily meal presentation of a high quality and standard
  • Be computer literate in excel and word
  • Understanding of costings, ordering and management of stock
  • Able to work long hours, weekends, and shift work as part of your management duties. This will include public holidays and weekends
