As part of our dynamic audit team, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals, contribute to meaningful client relationships, and play a key role in driving excellence across every engagement.

Duties and responsibilities
Technical Performance
  • Have an excellent knowledge of the audit approach
  • Perform the planning of the engagement if there is no 3rd year available or as required and perform audit sections as planned
  • Understand and apply the concept of materiality
  • Assist with the supervision of junior team members as requested
  • Perform detailed review of junior team’s sections as requested
  • Assist with the pre-planning and final completion of files as planned
  • Demonstrate evidence of consultations with appropriate specialists in areas of high risk
  • Produce high quality files which are logical and complete
  • Effective use of technology to ensure performance of an efficient audit
  • Produce high quality documents (i.e. Management Reports, Management Representation Letters and Engagement Letters) which are factually and grammatically correct
  • Produce high quality financial statements that are in conformity with the relevant accounting framework
Client Service
  • Gain the credibility and respect of key client personnel
  • Maintain a professional attitude, be polite, tactful, friendly and approachable at all times
  • Meet the deadlines for review by the supervisor / manager / partner and deliverables to the client
  • Prepare / review a Management Report detailing weaknesses in internal controls, business improvement ideas, and any other points requiring the attention of the client
People
  • Assist with supervising of junior staff throughout the audit
  • Quality on the job training of junior staff
  • Ensure you are kept informed of audit progress and issues timeously
  • Supervisor / manager or partner kept informed of audit progress and issues timeouslyManage relationships within the audit team and resolve conflict timeously
  • Ensure proper goals and objectives set for junior staff at the beginning of the engagement
  • Act as a role model for junior staff by creating a positive work climate, motivating junior staff, providing clear expectations, constructive feedback and guidance
  • Reliability without supervision
Financial Performance
  • Submit weekly timesheets timeously
  • Contribute to the firm’s image
  • Prepare a comprehensive budget for the engagementManage the engagement, ensuring that it is completed within the approved budget
  • Document all budget overruns and communicate these to the supervisor / manager / partner timeously
  • Ensure that all budget overruns are communicated to you timeously
  • Ensure that, to the best of your knowledge, staff charge all client related time worked
