Role Purpose

To assist the Research and Development Manager on delivering quality research through the planning and execution of broiler and breeder trials, to aid in the advancement of Astral's strategic goals.

Role Contribution To Organisational Strategy

Aligned with Astral's focus on operational efficiency, this role supports broiler trial innovations and precise data analysis to enhance broiler performance and methodologies. By ensuring bio-security and optimising trial processes, the position contributes to the company's strategy of being the best-cost integrated poultry producer.

Role Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and planning research trials to optimise broiler and breeder performance.
• Coordinate and execute fieldwork for research trials, ensuring operational excellence.
• Manage and analyse trial data to provide actionable insights.
• Ensure compliance with bio-security and health management.
• The daily operational management of the research facility.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Animal Science or Poultry Science.
• Honours or Master’s degree - advantageous.

Required Experience

• Total minimum of 1 year work experience.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in Research & Development.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working in Agriculture & FMCG.
