Assistant Farm Manager

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Farm Manager to join our dynamic team, based in Alberton.

Responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of the farm by planning, organizing, managing livestock, and maintaining facilities and equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of the feed yards.
  • Ensure profitable operations and optimise feeding parameters.
  • Develop a feeding program for the herd, considering any special considerations.
  • Understand the nutritional requirements for livestock to promote healthy growth.
  • Work with veterinarians to ensure animal health and catch sickness immediately.
  • Prepare plans and schedules for planting, spraying, land operations, and harvesting, and ensure staff understands expectations.
  • Ensure that the feedlot is clean and well‑maintained.
  • Report on weekly feedlot performance and manage a feed budget.
  • Manage feedlot and safety standards and relations with employees, suppliers, and customers.
  • Manage the sale of livestock to buyers.
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • Tertiary education in the Agricultural Field.
